In Home Care
My Health Carers was established in 2000 and continues to provide quality care services to aged and disabled people.
My Health Carers prides it self on our personalised service and ability to match the right carer to clients individuality.
My Health Carers insure that our staff are professional and reliable.
All My Health Carers staff are required to have a minimum Cert 3 in Aged and Disability Care and receive ongoing professional training in areas such as DEMENTIA SPECIFIC CARE, OH&S, Stoma and Bowel Care.
All My Health Carers staff are required to undertake children and police check as a condition of their employment.
Home Care
Some of the services we provide include:
- Vacuuming floors and rugs
- Mopping floors (with a mop)
- Sweeping
- Cleaning utility areas such as kitchen, bathroom and toilet
- Washing that may include soiled clothing or linen due to incontinence
- Ironing
- Changing the bed and changing the bed linen
- Light Dusting


Personal Care
Some of the services we provide include:
- Showering
- Prompting clients to take medication
- Toileting
- Transferring (from chair to bed\chair to toilet).
- Dressing
- Grooming including shaving, haircare, nails, (but excluding foot care which is normally undertaken by a podiatrist). Which includes any person who has diabetes.
- Feeding
- Assisting continence management (maintaining a toilet regime or helping them to change their underwear/continence aid or bed linen as needed).
- Fitting calipers, splints or other prosthetics as required
- Assisting a person who is attending a Adult day activity or support program
- Shopping on behalf of the clients or taking a person shopping.
- Community Access - socialisation.
- Respite for carers.
- Banking & paying accounts.
- Collecting prescriptions.
- Meal preparation and assistance.
- Transport clients to appointments.
- Advocating on the behalf of clients (making inquiries regarding utility services such eg.: gas and fuel as necessary).
- Assisting with care of pets - walking, feeding if requested.
Respite & Carer Support
Some of the services we provide include:
- Initial visit to research and assess client's capabilities, (likes and dislikes, needs & preferences).
- Social activities, crossword puzzles, reading, (newspaper's, and books) board games. I.e. scrabble, walking, light gardening.
- Disability or Family Support works in conjunction with programmes such as Support & Choice and Family Choice.
- These programmes include working with children & adults with disabilities or special needs and their families.
- Taking client to programmes or appointments : Day programmes and activities- support services, medical or hospital appointments.
- Assisting with Independant living skills. e.g. :cooking , cleaning, shopping, paying household accounts, accessing internet & basic computer skills.
- Arranging social & community activities: recreational (swimming, archery, gym., basketball etc)
- Respite: Initial visit to research and assess client's capabilities, (likes and dislikes, needs & preferences). Social Activities, crossword puzzles, reading, (newspaper's, and books) board games. I.e. scrabble, walking, light gardening.
- Socialization: as needed
- Transportation: medical appointments , programmes
- Community Integration & Access eg: short courses - computing, budget cooking, basic financial management etc. through community or neighbourhood houses.
- Family Support Worker - assist a family who has a special needs child. In some cases individual training is provided. i.e. PEG feed, Stoma Care, Hoist Transfers.
Transport
Some of the services we provide include:
- Pickup and drop off at social events
- Taking clients out for Morning Tea/Afternoon Tea/Lunch
- Transport to and from hospital
- Transport to and from Respite facilities
- Community Access activities - library visits, craft, cooking and computer programs.
- Recreational Activities - School Holiday Programmes, Archery, Swimming, Basketball etc.
- Medical Appointments
- Shopping
